What do we like to do?
What can we do for you?

What is a cultural project?
Examples?

What kind of cultural
projects did we do?

Or interested why we
carry a lighthouse in our
name and logo?

Why a lighthouse? Why Pharos?

A lighthouse has a certain image, which we like:

- it is a symbol for guiding you the right track when you start out or when you come home to finish,

- it is a symbol for standing fast although turmoil builds up around it

- it is a tower which looks far across the deep waters, and sends its light way out to everybody

- it symbolizes orientation, the right way, endurance etc.

And: we like to look at the lighthouses on the beautiful shores of the seven seas.

And by the way, follows a true story:

In the westernmost province of Austria exists a famous theater, built into the lake. Once, they prepared an opera and the stage designer erected a large lighthouse. The main singer was supposed to jump down the 100 feet into the water , which a stuntman did every evening performance during the whole summer.

The director of the Technical Museum of Vienna heard about the lighthouse. He fell in love with this beautiful, white and high rising lighthouse. A transport was organized and the lighthouse traveled over the roads for 450 miles to Vienna. There, it was placed right next to the museum and attracted the visitors by day and by night.

The director later became director of an art museum - the KunstHausWien - and now - you might have guessed it - is the boss of Pharos International. His name: Peter Rebernik.

The lighthouse again was moved. Now, it stands at the shores of the - beautiful, blue - Danube in front of the United Nations building.
